At the helm of VEN is Dr. Lavar Kofoed, a respected leader within the Eyemart community since 1996. Dr. Kofoed’s extensive experience and proven track record of building highly successful practices within the Eyemart network form the foundation of VEN’s vision. His leadership is driven by a passion to share this success with fellow Eyemart doctors.

Meet Our Leaders

Dr. Lavar Kofoed

Founder, President, and CEO
Dr. Lavar Kofoed is a highly accomplished optometrist and the driving force behind Visionary Eye Care Network (VEN). As Founder, President, and CEO, he brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the organization.
In addition to his leadership of VEN, Dr. Kofoed owns and operates ten thriving Eyemart Express locations throughout Idaho and Utah. These practices serve as a testament to his dedication and business acumen.
Dr. Kofoed’s journey in optometry began in 1996. He is a graduate of Fruitland High School (1985), earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1992, and received his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1996.
He is a respected member of the Idaho Optometric Physicians Association, the Utah Optometric Physicians Association, and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Kofoed deeply values the freedoms enjoyed in America. He is a devoted family man, married with eleven children and a growing number of grandchildren. In his spare time, he cherishes moments with his family.

Matt Soderling

Vice President
Matt Soderling brings nearly 16 years of invaluable experience in the optical industry to his role as Vice President of Visionary Eyecare Network. His journey began alongside Dr. Lavar Kofoed 16 years ago, starting as an office technician and rapidly progressing to managing Dr. Kofoed’s thriving practices.
In addition to his responsibilities with VEN, Matt also serves as Vice President of Eye Pros, which operates 10 Eyemart locations across Idaho and Utah. In this capacity, he oversees all aspects of the business, ensuring smooth operations, profitability, and optimal product procurement demonstrating a keen ability to secure advantageous partnerships and drive financial success.
This extensive experience has equipped Matt with a deep understanding of the industry and a passion for empowering optometrists. He is eager to leverage his expertise to benefit Eyemart doctors nationwide through VEN.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Matt cherishes time spent with his wife and four daughters. He enjoys the outdoors and is an avid soccer enthusiast, both playing and coaching.
